New to the Vette world, "olde-streetrodder", what is a good exhaust to install? Want something that sounds nice but co-pilot says not too loud. Would like a bolt-on.
I have B&B Bullets which have a really great deep rumble They are very loud, but I've never had anyone complain. But then again, I don't associate myself with people who would complain about that sort of thing
This is one of the most often asked question and also one of the most difficult to answer. What I like, you may not. What I hate, you might like. It just depends on what sounds right to you and the better half. Hang out with a group of C5's and you will hear a dozen different systems.
"Not too loud" would lead me to suggest either ZO6 Ti (titanium exhaust, stock on ZO6's - watch the Parts For Sale section for a good deal) or Corsa Touring. Both sound better than stock, but not too loud.
Good luck with your quest for the perfect exhaust.
We sell and install the B&B exhaust. My favorite to install is the B&B route 66 system. It has a deep sound but not to loud. Bullets sound good also but you have to like loud.
If you want someting good and not too loud,
Corsa Touring would be a good choice.
I have the Indy on mine which is a little louder but a great exhaust system.
B&B Bullets have an awesome sound (I have a set myself) people WILL stop and look as you drive by hehe. My favorite is people walking far far ahead and they turn around to see what is comming lol. Very deep rumble. Your copilot may think they are too loud though. hehe

I picked up a Corsa Pace Car cat-back system a few months ago from a fellow forum member. Without doubt, I'm very pleased with absolutely zero drone at cruising speeds, very nice idle rumble, and strong sound when rolling thru the gears at medium to high rpms.
Of course, when I was on the highway behind Chris (stangkiller) the other day cruising at highway speeds, I couldn't hear my radio, engine, exhaust, or myself talk over his exhaust.

I'm running the B&B Route 66 - just a little louder than stock at idle and sounds very good WOT. Only problems I have had with that system is it had resonance in 6th gear and popping when letting off the gas. Cured those problems with an X-pipe. Excellent quality though and even after 5 years, the system still looks like new.
