Saw the thread in Z06 FAQ'a under accessories about the shorty antennae's someone by the name of dave was selling. Thread is locked and didnt see any contact info for Dave. Anyone know if these are still available?
Most of the vendors sell them. Eckler's, Mid America motorworks. Corvette Garage. The one I got looks like a short version of the original mast. around eight inches tall and $20 bucks I think from Eckler's
...if you listen to CDs more than radio like I do, I elected to leave the oem Z06 antenna off. I used a black vinyl cap to cover/protect the threaded stud. It looks like an electric antenna in the down position.
If you're in a metropolitan area your reception may not suffer much w/o the antenna. I cut my oem antenna down to approx. 8" and also covered the end of it with a black vinyl cap.
You can get it from R-D Racing. Dave at R-D used to own the Company but, I think he sold the company a while back. They are still known as R-D Racing and are still Forum Vendors.

The link doesn't work on the left side of the screen to R-D Racing. Any one know what the correct URL is?
You're correct, the link to R-D RACING doesn't work...there's more than one site sponsor who's let their site links go down.
Anyway, an internet search found them under this link. They still show that same style of antenna for $24.00 online...scroll to the bottom of the page... http://www.r-dracing.com/miscproducts.htm
I just spoke to R-D RACING...neat people with nice products! They had someone else manage their website and they've decided to re-do it themselves...they will update their website link.
Though that does look nice, I just chopped off my stock one and reattached the ball. If you are careful, no need to paint and it is FREE (assuming you have a little bit of JB WELD).
