Default St. Louis car washes

I moved to St. Louis a couple of weeks ago for a new job. I live downtown and park the frc in a parking garage. I don't exactly have a hose and a driveway, and won't take it to a conveyor car wash. The car hasn't been washed in three weeks and is killing me, its almost embarassing. Yes, its my daily driver, so its pretty dirty. I was wondering if anybody knows of a car wash where I can "hand wash" it myself or if a place that offers high quality hand washing. Thanks.

I also posted this in the regional forum.

In St. Louis, I don't know, but if you head out to North County or if you want to drive all the way to Bethalto or Alton IL (I would if my Vette was looking bad) there's a couple of places. PM me and I'll give you directions. (I may not be back on-line for a day or two...)

On a Saturday it could be a nice ride to get the Vette clean and then go up the River Road to Grafton.

I am sure somebody from the Route 66 club in St. Charles can give you directions to a closer place.

Time to make some quick friends that own a house where you can use their hose to wash the car.

Hope you get her washed up soon.

Howard's Car Wash. West side of Woodson Road about 3 blocks north of St Charles Rock Road, in Woodson Terrace. (This area is just south of Lambert Airport). They handwash. Charge about $12 and do a pretty good job. They wash cars for a lot of the car rental agencies at the airport.

Cheers

If you go a little South of the City, there are several self service car washes in the South County area on Lemay Ferry Rd there are two, there is one on Reavis Barracks Rd to the left of HWY 55 going south, and two on Telegraph Rd to the right off of Reavis Barracks Rd . You can get away using a bucket at these as long as it is not too busy. I do it all the time during the winter at night when nobody is there.

After you solve the car wash problem and have a good wax job on the vette, go to an auto store and get a California Duster. This will help you prolong the time between washes.

I've got one of those, but I really don't want to scratch the **** out of it. I've used it when I'm lazy and it had just been washed a day or two prior. I recently buffed, polished, and waxed it; so there's not too many scratches on it. That and the passenger side of it was repainted so a duster would tear that new paint apart after repeated use.
