It seemed that every other weekend we'd have to hitch up and tow someone out that was using some light car with no weight in the back (like, a Vette or 2WD pickup) .. or they'd start smoking the tires trying to pull the boat out, at which point everyone in the marina would come running over and jump on the back of the vehicle to try and give it some weight.. it usually worked, though there were plenty of submarine drivers initiated at those marinas.. fun days..

I saw a C5 pulling a large (28ft) boat at a local car show several years back
They were both yellow and powered by LS1 motors. He also had someones autograph under the hood. Maybe he will chime in.
