Im having an alignment done in the front. My tires are shot in the front and im buying used tires just to get through the rest of the season. If i put used tires on AFTER the alignment, will i need another one, or is this ok?????? They are the same stock sizes
The alignment will affect the wear on the tires. The wear on the tires does not affect the alignment.
Unless you hit a curb or large pothole after the alignment there is no need to re-align after you install the newer tires
Hi Ryan,
Theoretically when you put the tires on shouldn't matter. To do this right however, you need a 4 wheel alignment - can't get by with a front only on a car with all independent suspension.
If the used tires are worn evenly, then the alignment specs shouldn't be affected; however, if the tires are worn unevenly to the point where there is no longer an even tread footprint, then this might throw the alignment settings off just a tad.
