97 column lock

Default 97 column lock

Just happend after I washed my car, I searched the forum still dont understand Is there a way I can fix it without going to the stealership, I thought I read you cant get hte CLB if it already happened.

You need to get the column unlocked first. Turn the key on, and shake the wheel hard from side to side. Turn it off and do it, on, etc...it should unlock eventually. Then call Corvettes of Houston and get a CLB. It takes 30 minutes to install, and you'll be all set.

Take it to the dealership and they will fix it. Here is the second recall chevy put out for this. Came out Feb 8, 2006

They will not cover if it is the BCM (body control module). That will run you 500+.
