Default Newbie Question

I just bought a set of C6 wheels (17X9.5 Front and 18X10.5 rear) for my '03 C5 Zo6.
Question is does the extra 1" width on these wheels interfere with turning, suspension, etc? The car is lowered on the factory bolts.
Any info would be appreciated.

What extra width? Stock Z06 wheels are the same size you mentioned, unless my memory has completely failed me.

Well then...
Consider me an idiot. I thought the stock sizes were 8.5 fr and 9.5 r, and thought that I had read that on the this forum somewhere. and thats why I thought I might have ordered the wrong size wheels. But I guess it's all cool. Thanks for the info.
Yes, I should know my car better but I have only had it 3 weeks. So hence the ignorance. :o

Don't worry about it. It takes time to learn things. You'll find that almost no matter what question you have about your car, someone here will be able to help.

Now that you know that you bought the same as stock size wheels, you could even have gone bigger. I have 18 x 10 in front with 18 x 11 in rear on my '03 Z06. There is no rubbing, no sticking out of the fenders and everything works perfectly.

Well, I did really want to stay with the stock sizes to keep the same ride and handling characteristics. My last car, I put bigger and wider wheels on rode like crap. I may go bigger in the future but for now I got what I want.

I just installed 19 x 10 and 19 x 11 CCW 505A's. 275's and 305's. No rubbing, no cutting required. Now she gets lowered. Geez...I might need bigger rotors to fill up the front wheel...

It's Blingtastic!

Hi ZO -

No problem with the rims - I have seen slight rubbing in the rear wheelwells on a C5 Z with 10.5 rims and 335 series tires, but I have 305's and no problems, and I know 315's are fine as well.

Lower aspect ratio tires will give a harsher ride, all else being equal.

best regards -
