Default Borla stingers

I have a question. I have a reply that the exhaust sound I am looking for could be achieved by getting borla stingers or BB PRT's (what r they anyway). My question is---do I need to use headers with these choices?? And where is the best place to purchase either/or?? And what is the difference between cat-back and s-type cat-back?? Any preferences???

I found this description on an online warehouse supplier--List Price $1159.99
Your Price $966.97
You Save $193.02
Part # 140038
Description Exhaust System - S-Type Cat-Back; 1999 CORVETTE C5/Z06 5.7L V8 RWD Automatic/Manual 2DR; Tip Exit: Split Rear, Tip Style: Dual Round Rolled Angle-cut .

Correct part?? Good price?? Help please??

thanks
Lori

There are better prices than what you posted. I paid $850.00 for my Quad Tip Stingers. I'm sure there are better deals out there than mine. Many good vendors on the forum. And no, you do not need to install headers to get a great sound.
140038 Quad Round Tips
Mine in pic are oval 140039

Good Luck

Lori,
Cannot answer all your questions but I installed Borla quad round tip exhaust. No X pipe or headers. Corvette Garage, linked, great price and good people. Might ask them on help deciding. I love my Borla's and the sound is awsome without any other mods to them.

I just ordered a quad tip set of Borlas from Nate @ Corvette Garage. Great price and service. I did the Oval tips 140039 I beleive.

This is my 3rd set. I love the sound of the Borlas.

BTW, a price increase is do or already in effect on Borla. Consider buying now.

Thank you to dcblackc5. That helped me totally pick my sound. It was perfect..

Thanks to the rest of you. I will try to keep looking. Is there any difference in the round tips and the oval tips or is that just for looks?

The Borla Quad tips look nice. But, If you want a set of quad tip cannons coming out the rear, hands down the best sounding, best looking exhaust out there are the B&B Bullets!!

I just installed a set and I paid less than $600.00 brand new from Tbyrne Motorsports. Ask for Tom.

I have a set of the Borla Quad rounds on my vette. I also have LG Street Headers and long tubes. I bought the car with them. Personally I think its to loud. I like it, but the droon is to much at times.

Do they have the same sound as the Borla Stingers?? I got to hear what they sound like and it was "purrrfect"---so is the sound the same??

Thanks
