Default My modest first round mods

I scaled back my mod list considerably after driving the car for a while, (good advice from a fellow forum member). Stock form this is a spectacular car, IMO.

But I decided my mod criteria would be the biggest bang for the buck. More go then show. However the Bose had to be replaced ASAP. And since I had the majority of the audio pieces in my '97 Crown Vic PI, I decided to transfer the system over what I could. Had some crappy RCA speakers for the front lying around unused and bought Sony for the back. My goal was to cut as little of the interior as possible. I came pretty close.

My starting point

Back View. It is open underneath to utilize the center storage area in the trunk.

Lining things up

One JL 12 inch sub in, one to go

Both subs in

All covered

Cheesy cars theme, but my 2 yr old son loves it

The back

Installed and secured with the amps, 2K sub, 65 x 4 and fire extinguisher

Another view

Side view

Front seat view

Head unit (Alpine with Ipod connection set up in the center console, not pictured) and separate EQ. I like the EQ because my music tastes vary, sans country. Jazz, hip hop, R&B, classic rock, etc. Can easily adjust the frequencies while driving and still look at the road. You look closely you can see I just cut a little from the top of the ash tray all the way across. Love the Dremel. Also installed a Kirban shifter and Delrin ****.

EQ hidden with the cover

Shorty coated headers installed, yes long tubes are better, but went with these for price, ease of installation. Can feel some SOTP improvement. Plus if the Dems win the FL governorship in November, inspections may return.

She has a bra. Love bug season here in Florida

The list of those on this forum who have inspired me is long and distinguished, (I thank them for their time and efforts) and my little foray into the mod world is very amateurish compared to the pros, but it was fun and productive.

I spent a total of $699.00. On the forums here I got the headers for $400, shifter $85, bra $65. Spent $100 on the 3 farad capacitor, $39 on the ****. All in all it went great. I'm tired, lol

Big thank you to the great sellers I dealt with here

Zo6 sway bars and metal end links in transit (200 here on the forums too), shocks, and nitrous (just a 50 hp shot) soon to follow. JL amp and speakers also around Christmas. Thanks for looking, sorry if it is long. I love this place!!!!

Quit blaming that car themed sub box on your little guy. Nice start, enjoy the car.

Twine I assumed I had, error in thinking on my part. lol My daughter baled me out on that one.

The sub enclosure is removable, so my next step will be to use a pc power supply connector like the one on motherboards (there are 16 connections on the connector) to have a quick disconnect set up and some nice handles for the side.

Thanks for the positive responses everyone. (criticisms are also welcomed )

Nicely done 1 suggestion .... cover that sub box with carpet that matches your interior. Loose the "CARS" theme
