Default wheel rollout

i put 18x12's rear and 18x9.5 front wheels on and a while ago and since i put them on my traction control is acting up. when i get above 20 with t/c on it bogs the car down like my tires are spinning. i took it to the chevy dealer and they said its because the rollout has changed and there was nothing they could do for me. there has to be something that can be done. alot of vette owners get aftermarket wheels. any suggestions? thanks,
casey

Hit the little button on the console and turn it off.

The issue is most likely not the wheel size it is probably the tire size. What size tires do you have mounted to your new wheels?

Many people run 18's front and rear ( width means nothing ) Tire height is the problem... you need .075 in. to 1.00 in. height variation from front to rear, Naturally the rear's have to be higher this is done by chosing ther proper aspect ratio to achieve this offset.

I was wondering why they come like 17 on the front and 18 on the back
can you explain what you mean by proper aspect ratio?

Aspect ratio alone has nothing to do with it, since it is affected by width. It is possible to put a 30 series tire on that is taller than a 35 series, so who cares what the aspect ratio number is.

Pay attention to the overall height (diameter) of the tire, that's all that matters.

That's your problem...the front tires are ~ .6" taller than the rears.

You have to keep the front tires shorter to avoid such issues.

276/36/18 will probably work for you, a 265/35/18 would be better in terms of front/rear tire height ratio..

Either live with turning the T/C off at startup, or get the shorter front tires.

Yup, thats it. Should be able to sell the 275/40-18 being that size is stock for coupe rears.
