more fabrication pics would be great.
how's the light output? for $120 i can't imagine it's that great but who knows...
ok started with a good plastic floor( all attemts were made to keep things lightweight) .

then i fabricated a backing out of sheetmetal.

a good dremel is a must. sry bout my foot.

before all of this i ordered 2 peices of acrilic glass 1/8ish thick 24"x24"( chosen because 1. light weight 2.formable at 3min 350 degrees f/h. 3. less reflection. 4. easy to cut. 5. only 14 bucks a sheet.

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...uct%5Fid=10477
all the cutting was done at www.blinketyblanks.com
they have presicion cutting machines they only charged 50$ to cut. and now they have a c5 vette lens saved on there computer cutting machine.
i used the old flip up cover to form the new lens, wax paper will protect the new/ old lens from baking the paint off. cook for 3-4 min @350 degrees, yes i did preheat
it wont form at all till the 3 1/2 min mark and then it just collapses like a flan in the cubbard, forming the shape of the old light.
used all weather ultra flat black paint for the inside. fabricated mounts to bolt the beam aiming post's to.

light were some cheap ones i found on ebay, plent bright, on the freeway test.

playing around with different paint designs on a spare sheet. decided to go with the little bmw'ish winged flare at the corner

painted the under side with dupont ultra flat standard spray, painting underside gives glossy appearence on reverse side+paint protection

peel back

finished lens

fittment need minor trimming as my measurements i gave www.blinketyblanks.com were slightly large. used weather striping beetween fabricated lens mount to keep from scratching.

water sealing without looking awful or cheap was a pain
