B&M Shift Plus
On those forums, they advise to locate the wires required to make the installation at the cars computer and add an appropriate and inexpensive resistor from RADIO SHACK. The modification will make "permanent" modifications to the shift points at normal cruise only, not WOT where it's more desired. That firmness might be to firm for some street driving/drivers. The modification is similar to the CAG defeat in that you pay much less for a resistor and get basically the same results that the manufacturer and the aftermarket resellers charge "big" money. The product sells for about $50.00 as I recall, but I don't consider that "big" money in terms of typical modifications, especially to a Corvette.
I considered the B&M product for my '96 Impala SS because I
1. don't like cutting into oem wires
2. liked the option of original shifting or the firmness option(s) offered by the product
I decided to leave my 4L60E alone and if I keep my SS, I'd send the PCM out for several upgrades including the transmission shift points.
