The blackouts on the taillights and the facia look good, but the louvers just don't do it for me.

all that chrome and red and black is just too much...
keep is simple... one subtle color for your accent pieces, makes it classic...

That's right....I did ask.

I just wasn't prepared for such an overwhelming and one sided response. I realize it's my vette and I can do what I want, but public opinion in some things can clear my own fuzzy judgment.

The idea behind the chrome taillite accents, was to provide contrast to the black-outs, and to enhance the illusion of "wideness" to the back end of the vette.

But if it's too gaudy, too glitzy, too busy, then the masses have spoken. Tomorrow, the chrome comes off the taillights.

I asked for honest opinions, and I got honest opinions.

Not crazy about your louvers. The rest looks good Had the MSG louvers on mine for awhile. Decided i didn't care for it anymore and went with the blackouts. But, it's all in what you like.

Judging from the response here I am surprised they even are able to sell a set of louvres

Plus, take off the chrome letters and use black (or none).

It looks like your Corvette is having an identity crisis... is it blacked-out for a racy/stealthy theme or are you going for the high-profile chrome/bling-bling motif?

I'd go with the backout look myself, but no matter what I or anyone else suggests, it's your car... do what you like.

personaly, I like your louvres. they look kool. maybe paint them red and they might look better, but the rear end looks pretty styled out. Kool looking and it does look wider.

I never understood the louvers thing, they look too ghetto in any color. There was a Z06 at a dealership here with just the chrome louvers and everytime I drove by I wanted to go rip them off they are fugly, and detract from the asetically pleasing qualities of the vette.

fact....
A Lot of thought went into this design...lots a nights in the think tank, arguing over this.

fact....
Everyone wants to personalize their car.

Fact...
There are many options out there to do this.

fact...
It is hard to please everyone, personalize your car, and still keep the car as exquisite as the original design...

Fact...
Hookers put on a lot of makeup, over the top high heels, big hair, only to get attention... but you would hardly call a hooker classy...

Now if you like the look of and want to show her off to your friends, thats great, but most will only feel sorry for you behind your back.

Fact....
Improving on the original design certainly can be done, but it isn't as easy as bolting on every bling item you can afford...

Ultimately....
It's your car, no one can see it through your eyes.. If you are looking for acceptance in the real world... many will tell you what you want to hear and then laugh at you behind your back...Knowing who to ask, and be assured you are getting honest input is difficult on an open forum.. Ive argued with hundreds of friends here about sugar coating some gawd awful mods.

Fact...
I can assure you, that if you ask me, I'm going to give it to you straight.

Good Luck with your car

I like the fascia, but the rest has to go, especially the louvers.
