Default Fall at Pennsylvia's Grand Canyon

It was a beautiful day for a cruise to the Northern part of the state. Here is a pic along the way and two of the canyon. This canyon is complete with a river at the bottom, just like its big brother in Arizona. Now for a few scenery pics, but none with my car.

I was there yesterday. It is one of my favorite places. We took the train ride up to the lake, and shopped in town. There was a Viper cruise that stopped in town. Other than the (ugly )Vipers, it was a great afternoon. We ate at the Timeless Destination, they always have good food. Wellsboro is a fall tradition for my family. Glad you enjoyed it also.

15 North then west 414 10 miles, then 287 N to Wellsboro. Eastern Rim is 10 miles southwest of Wellsboro.

If you stay on 15 North another 20 miles, you end up in Corning, NY, home of Corning Glass, where I saw billboards for their museum tours.

I spent three years of my youth in the area. My folks best friends lived in York in a rebuilt grist mill, along a creek (of course). Yes, it was a long ride, but a fun one. Warm big pretzels with mustard were a memory. You could hunt and shoot in the back yard.

We lived near Harrisburg. Went to the Harrisburg Academy (which I know is still there, since they send me alumni stuff). Fished in the river downtown while my brother went to confirmation classes. That was in the early 60's. Billy Scranton was a class mate - his Dad ran for the presidency one of those years, lost early. Billy invited his class and mine ( I was one year older) to the gov's manse each summer for a picnic and swim. Billy me and my brother had the photography club.

Don't miss the humidity tho - no A/C in those days.

Thanks for the pics.
