I never have really understood people bashing other generations of corvettes. They do it in just about every forum. I bounce in and out of a few. I'm a corvette fan. I love the C4 and happen to own one, but I appreciate them all!

A mint 1958 or 59 would be so sweet - then a C5 (01 - 04) is my choice. Really you need two - old one for shows and weekend driving - and c5 for daily driving and shows.

I'd put C6 Z06 drive train under a 62.

And.... with seat belts and an airbag. I always stop to look at the 61/62's at shows, I simply can't pass one by. They have the show, and the go and safety of an ox cart.

The C5 is hard to beat, considering engineering and cost. The C5 meets my needs, and I doubt I'll be getting anything else soon. Count me in on the C5, with lust in my heart for a '62 - ala Jimmy Carter for the history buffs.

Just as a side comment, I read the designer of the C5/C6 said he does not believe in copying the styling of the older Vettes. I think he is missing the boat on that call. C1-C3 had more style and lines. Sorry, but the truth is that C1-C3 define what a Vette should look like. The C7 should use some of these classic lines. Maybe by his mistake, I think my 01 has a little 62 in it! I chose white with red as "my tip of the hat" to the original 53 colors. Heritage is pride.

I just can't believe that the C1 is in last place. I figured for sure it would be 1st or 2nd. They are my favorites since they were the Corvettes that I grew up with.

Wrong, check it out. The L88 had aluminum heads and intake manifold, but the block was iron. The ZL1 was the only all aluminum one at that time. I was actually fortunate to get a ride in one.

I love my C5 Z06... but if i had a wish...

1967 L88.... in Silver of course

Next choice is a 68/69 ZL1.... In Silver of course

You just can't beat legend of the L88's or the ZL1's. I just hear they were a nightmare to tune properly? I saw a L88 and I could have sworn it had a center console plaque that said 12.5:1 compression and required 100 octane

That is correct, both the L88 and the ZL1 had 12.5:1 compression. I am old enough to have actually seen and been in both when they were new. They also did not come with A/C or even a radio. They were not intended to be street driven cars.

Love my C5, faster more comfortable, quieter, better ride etc. but the 65-67s are the best looking. I've had 9 Corvettes two 63s, one 64, one 65, one 67, one 77, one 79, one 92, one 02.
