Default ZO6 Rollbar

Any suggestions for a bolt in roll bar which will accept a camera mount?

Also, will 4 point belts work with the stock Z seats and this roll bar?

Thanks, Don

Don,

You probably want to post this in the Autocrossing & Roadracing section, and do a search there. There have been many threads on rollbars in Vettes.

I put a Brey-Krause harness bar (not a roll bar) in my '03 Z and it works well, together with the B-K seat belt adapters that attach to the stock seat belt locations. There is an optional camera mount that works with the B-K bar. The shoulder harnesses did not work with my stock Z06 seats. I considered getting a set of sport seats or installing racing seats, but thanks to a fellow Forum member, I ended up with a beautiful set of Caravaggio seats with shoulder harness holes. They work really well and are still compatible with the stock seatbelts for street/highway driving (you don't want to use your racing harness on the street, they are not DOT legal for that). East Coast Supercharging is offering new seat cover kits that can convert the stock Z06 seats to sport seats, as an alternative to installing racing seats.

There are a couple of bolt-in bars available, but if you really want the added safety of a roll bar, have it done properly by someone like Phoenix Performance. There is also an issue about welding the bolt-in plates, and that needs to be done by someone who knows about welding in a C5 Vette, or your car's electronics will be toast.

Just a few thoughts.

Wolfe makes a bolt in bar for the Vette. I have my camera mounted to mine and my 6 point harness.

I have an R & D roll bar in my car, with a sparco evo seat, if I had to do it over again, I would go with a custom cage.

And Phoenix isnt really an option, they wont do a roll bar, they will only do a full 22 point cage, and you will loose your hud and most of your vents, I hope this helps
