I have a floor jack and it only lifts up about 1/2 way and stops. I thought it might need fluid, but there is an alan head type bolt and a flat head screwdriver type bolt on the jack cylinder itself. Which do i put fluid in? Do i do it with the jack all the way up? or down? If it's supposed to be down... the fluid is full its the alan head bolt. any help is much appreciated.
You need to take the allen head bolt off and pump the air out. Then put the bolt back in and fill the oil on the...... What kind of ancient jack is it???
Do yourself a favor, go to Sears and get Craftsman low profile jack. You will be glad you did it

I have a feeling thats whats going to happen... a trip to sears. lol
I took the alan head bolt out and barely pumped it, but jack fluid came out. I dunno. Think its time for a new quick lift jack hell, maybe i'll just put a lift in my garage lol.
haha... right now, i just need a jack! lol. Trading the Z06 ti's for some B&B Bullets, and stacking 3 landscaping ties on top of the jack to get it high enough is not my idea of "Safe"
Your avatar shows a yellow corvette in front of 3 loading docks. If you can get you car into that building, you can back your car up to the edge of the loading dock and change the catback without jacking the car up.
