Default exhaust install??? quick questions

I have a lowered z06 and i plan to install a set of bb bullets. Can any muffler shop install a bb bullet system and line it up perfectly? should i take it to a corvette shop or is the install pretty easy? I am mainly concerned with lining up the tips.

What type of lift does the shop need to get my lowered Z up without any problems?

also what is the estimated time for the install?

thanks guys

Any muffler shop can do the install / alignment.
It is a pretty easy install.
A drive-on lift with appropriate ramp aids will work.
A two post lift with help from a floor jack will work.
Takes about 30-45 minutes.
Good Luck!

With a lift, anybody should be able to do it.

Just make sure they have some way to make it up on the lift if it is a drive on, and have jacking pucks if it is an arm lift...

Peace

I installed my Borla Stingers without a lift.
I had the rear of the car jacked up precariously/insanely high,
and was questioning my sanity when I stood back to look at it,
and then crawled under it.... !!!
I'm exagerrating a little, call it writers embellishment...
It was safe, I had several supports in several locations,
it wasn't going anywhere.
The point I'm trying to make is the problem isn't the height needed to install,
it's the height needed to remove the old system,
which is one piece, and being one piece is the BIG problem.
You have to have the car really high to twist and turn the old system out. It was a royal PITA.
The new system is two pieces, which greatly reduces the height you need to have the car at to install.

I sincerely believe, that with a proper/safe way to elevate the car,
any reasonably competent person can remove the old and install the new.
To remove the old requires removing four bolts that hold the sway bar,
and two bolts per side to remove the stock exhaust.
Installation is just following the same steps in reverse order.
Just read the directions.
Your ability to "line up" the tips probably isn't much different than a muffler shop.
Use what you have, tape measure, a board, your eyes...
take measurments, stand back and look, ask someone else to look,
then tighten everything up!
It's a great feeling to do your own work!
Think it through, use yer head, and be safe,....not like me.

:i
Talk to a few shop managers.
You may need some scrap 2x8s or 2x10s to start the car up on a lift.
I backed mine over a pit and the guys worked in it. A truck shop that didn.t do many cars.
Buy 4 hockey pucks $4 and carry them with you.
If a shop man doesn't want to work with you walk away and find someone who will.
Good luck

A competent muffler shop should be able to get the tips lined up and the install perfect. The shop I used for mine charged me $50 for the install.

thanks for the replies guys. I ended up buying some 2x8's and made my own ramps like the ones seen may times on the forums. i am going to try and do the install myself. after lifting the car up tonight and finally getting a good look at the underside of my Z the install looks pretty straight forward. i am going to attemp the install myself... looks pretty easy.

i will post pics and let you guys know how everything went.

thanks agian

Just please DO NOT cut the over-the-axle pipes to remove the Ti mufflers. Don't let anyone tell you they can't otherwise be removed. You will ruin them and they are worth $$ (and will be worth more in the future IMHO).

Let me know how much you want for the Ti's when you are done. I may be interested.
