Default Houston, we have a problem....

http://www.viccarter.kicks-***.net/disaster this was the result of glancing blow from a guard rail. The events leading up to this tragedy are this... somehow my shifter got stick in 4th gear. i pressed the clutch a few times to try and get it to loosen up, with no such luck. So, I reached back and jammed the shifter forward and that got it out of gear. I did some quick shifts with the clutch depressed and there didnt seem to be any problems. (here is where i screwed up) I then decided to go full tilt through the gears to see if it was gonna get stuck again. the road appeared to be straight for quite a while so i hammered the throttle. I noticed left turn approaching rapidly so i hit the brakes and just as the turn was beginning, I crossed a set of railroad tracks which upset the little traction the worn SCs had to offer. i was able to bring it back from hitting the outside guard rail, but the TC/AH wanted to do all the work and I ended up in the guard rail on the the inside, just past the turn. I'm gonna think loooong and hard before i go over the speed limit in the rain again!!!! Anyone know a good body shop in the N. DE, MD area??

I NEVER run with TC/AH on. I always drive with everythying off. I can turn faster lap times with everything off and "me" driving the car. I hate driving on the street with that crap on and can slide in and out of turns without some computer helping me do it.

Man thats some massive damage to your car.

Step 1- fasten seat belt
Step 2- turn key
Step 3- TURN OFF ACTIVE HANDLING/TRACTION CONTROL

Perhaps not for everyone, however, when a professional driver inputs he expects to get what he wants, not have the vehicle fight him over who's right - the results of that battle can be catastrophic.

Looks like a good opportunity to put some advanced composite products body on the whole thing to me. Likely cheaper than buying the factory parts and it'll give it the speed world challenge look. You walked away, and you get some upgrades - win win.

It looks bad but really its mostly cosmetic type damage (body panels) doesnt look like you have any real structural type damage.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident but you walked away unhurt and that is really all that matters.

Sorry to hear of your experience but it is exactly why I keep the car out of rain whenever I have control over it but if for whatever reason I get caught in the rain, I drive the car like a damn civic.

Thats what i'm gonna do from now on. I'm gonna invest in some NITTO 555RIIs for some more grip. prolly gonna do 1 or 2 more things while my baby is in pieces, perhaps do some mods to the driver too...

down here is sw fla. we drive in torrential rains during rainy season. its most slippery when the rain first starts. the f1 supercars work great in the rain. you just have to keep your right foot connected to your brain.
