Default Hood light

Is it possible to turn off the under hood light when the hood is up for an extended period of time?

I believe the underhood light will shut itself off after about 5 minutes.

You can also disconnect the power. Unplug the connection at the passenger side of your air filter.

It takes about 15 minutes, but the light should go out by itself - its a power saving feature for the battery. Also, you can just unplug it - the connector is located on the passenger side down towards the bottom of the radiator shroud by the air cleaner assembly.

If ten minutes of having that bulb on kills your battery......

It's on about a 15 min. timer. When I'm at shows or cleaning under the hood for any length of time I just unplug the light. There is a quick connect right next to the air box just below the hood, very easy to get too.

Check the latest Corvette Central catalog... I believe they have an aftermarket harness that has an on/off switch. Pricey I thought at about $50. My $.02

For $50, I'd expect it to include a removable light that you can move around under the hood.
