Question
Washed my car yesterday and was listening to my car stereo during that time (Roughly 2 hours). I have an amp/sub wired from the rear to the battery (10" sub, 1000 watt amp). When I went to start the car the battery (Optima) was completely drained, and there was a buzzing noise coming from the passenger side firewall, and this was with the car completely off, and the keys out of the ignition. I've listened to my radio while washing the car before, certainly for an hour or so, and never had a problem. In trying to remedy the situation I disconnected the amp, charged the battery, and it was good to go. I'm wondering if listening to the stereo for 2 hours could've completely drained the battery, and what the buzzing noise could've possibly been. Also, if there is anything I should do/check following such an incident. Thanks.

Been there, done that........two hours will do it.
The buzzing noise was a relay chattering in the lower passenger footwell, normal when the battery is run down. You should be ok.

I have to agree - two hours would probably be enough to drain the battery.
