I just bought an 03 Z06. Where's the best place to buy a hurst shifter? The Z06 shifter is like rowing a boat compared to my RX7 with a "shortened" B&M Short-shifter...

the hurst shifter is louder then stock, but there are a few tricks u can do to quiet them down. I did the fernco pipe mod and it helped alot.

search the forums for "hurst shifter" and u shold find the threads explaining how to quiet them down.

I trimmed the rubber boot to fit tightly around the base of the shifter, and do not have any significant increase in noise from the tunnel. I ran the car for a few days without the boot, and it was a lot noisier. Just having the boot in place, blocks a lot of heat and noise.

Yes I love mine too, especialy after I did the " Antivenom " indent washer trick to the trans, It just seems to find it's own path to each gear and shift so much smoother, takes 90% of the notchiness out of the shifter and you can bang gears with no fear of catching the wrong gear. I also switched to Royal Purple trans fluid before I did the Antivenom mod and could tell the difference on the first shift.

If you look back in the archives there are pic's of this mod installation, very simple yet very effective mod, you will be glad you did it.

I had the same issue with my B&M. I cut a length (6" or so) of 3/4" I.D. pipe insulation and wrapped it around the shifter, then installed the boot over top of it...definitely made a difference.
