Default Sorry guys...

I know I shouldn't be asking this, but...I just got my Z and I already want to up the hp. I'm wanting some quality, bang-for-buck, bolt-ons. I'm thinking LG long tube headers/X-pipe, cam, and catbacks. Any suggestions on a good cam that has worked well for you? I'm also in the market for air induction. I'm leaning towards the Blackwing, but I must admit, I like how exotic the Vararam looks. Anyway, I'd like a cam with good overall power with the majority being down low and into the upper midrange if possible. I'd also like a little lope, but nothing crazy. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Replace the valve springs if you do a cam.

Bang for the buck, I went with a maggie.

I disagree. Bang for $$$, a H/C is cheaper. You can easily achieve 450 rwhp, for about 2700-3500, wheras a Maggie will run you about 6500-7500, depending on options. Remember, when you install your H/C, it's really easy to resell your stock parts and recoup some of the expense. Also , you don't have to contend with the aftermarket hood, and god-awful whine from the SC. Some people actually like that, OTOH.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention valvesprings. I need those too. Does Crane or Comp Cams have a good set to go with a good cam or do I need to mix/match parts for the best result? Part #'s and descriptions would be great so I don't look like an idiot telling people what I need to buy! Thanks again.

Do you have any kind of emissions testing in your state? Might need to take that as a factor also
