[Z06] Tranny Noise When Shifting

Tranny Noise When Shifting
I have an '02 Z with about 28K, and when ever i shift and release the clutch to quickly there is a tump right under the shifter. Is this the normal sound it makes when the gears are joining, or is there a problem. It happens more often some times not sure if it is due to tranny temp. Anyone got any opinions?

No gear noise would come from under the shifter as the trans is mostly behind the shifter and thumping is not a gear noise at all. Gear noises are either grinding or whining. The noise you describe would most likely be a broken motor mount, but that would not be temp. related. You may also want to look at your universal joints as they may thump also if bad and that may get worse as they heat up. Also could be the seat as this has been talked about alot but again its not related to heat. Good luck hope I helped some.
