Default Differences between 2000-2004 polished thin spokes?

Was there any differences between 2000-2004 factory polished thin spokes? I have a 2001, and want to purchase some used thin spokes, and want to know if all the years were the same.

I believe the 2000 polished thin spokes were "real" thin. Years 2001-2004 spokes where a little thicker.

Check the two links below for a visual of the differences:

These might be reproductions, but they will show you the differences

Here's a few pic's from my 2000... Maybe someone can post a pic or two from the later years for you to compare.

I think some of them were forged.

They were manufactured using a forging process as opposed to a casting process. From what I understand all polished wheels from 00-04are the same. The ones that changed were the painted ones. The change occurred some time in late 2000. They were switched to a cast wheel and the spokes are a little thicker.

Ding ding - we have a winner. The switch to the thicker-spoke painted wheel was during the 2000 model year.

The factory polished wheels remained the same from 00-04. No differences at all.

Only the base painted wheels changed in 2001

This is exactly right. The early 2000 painted wheels were the same forged core wheel as the 2000-2004 polished wheels. These wheels have GM stamped on the back. Beginning about February-March of 2000, and continuing through the 2004 model year, the painted wheels were suppled by Speedline and became a cast wheel. These wheels all have "Speedline" stamped on the back of them.
