Good day everyone. I had a little concern before I start my project. I purchased some stock painted and clearcoated fuel rail covers for my 1998 vette. I was curious as to how I would go about removing the current ones that I have on. I have never done this and don't want to break anything. Any ideas?
You should be able to pull them right out. They are only held in by little clips - i think two in the front and two in the back. When I took mine out I found it was easier to pull up on the side facing the outer edge of the engine bay first.
Their pretty easy... just lift up on a portion at a time. They're held down by little stud like posts. No unscrewing or twisting. On the passenger side, remove the oil cap first and on the driver side, lift carefully around the braided line - you might have to maneuver the line as you lift up. Do the passenger side first... it's earier and you'll have a better understanding on how they're attached.
Just be careful when putting the drivers side cover back on especially custom painted ones, I would recomend putting either masking tape over the fuel lines or something soft, so that the paint doesnt chip, Ive seen some really nice covers get chipped by just installing them.

Pull straight up - they have 3-4 "C" clips on the back that hold them in place. The hardest part is getting the fuel rail cover around the braided lines (2 in your case on the driver's side).
