I can make them say whatever you want, with whatever you want.

Usually a customer just gives me an idea of what they want on their badges and then I will make a rendering on the computer and email it to them. They may or may not ask me to make changes, and we will go back and forth like that a couple of times untill everything is how they want it. Then I cut the badges from a peice of solid stock (not a casting) polish and paint to match the rendering.

There is great potential with those. I like the original Z06 emblem, but with the horsepower changed to the appropriate number. I would love ot get a 450hp one, but who knows when that will be outdated.

Hey austin, very nice work. Are you a sheet metal shop or Machining shop. I own a machine shop. I have 9 CNC machines 2 CNC lathes and A horizontal machinig center. I have often thought of doing something for the corvette market but I am always too busy with my Job shop work. Good luck with your business. You should do well with such high quality workmanship.

I am just a stay at home dad with a small shop in the garage. a friend of mine handles the www.vetteorama.com website. doing corvette parts just kind of fell into my lap. another friend owned a corvette asked me to make him some cool stuff, and interest grew from there. I don't know that i could do this stuff if i had a job shop to run, nobody would want to pay the prices that i would have to charge to do a set of emblems. i was in at a local machine shop recently and the owner showed me a custom harley badge that he made for a local bike builder, he charged the guy $500, which was a deal at that shop. i think that his shop rate is $60 /hour. after he looked at my stuff he was shocked that i was only charging $200 for a pair of emblems. he thought that the design time would cost at least twice that at his shop.

most days i have to just do the computer work during the day while i am watching dora the explorer and jimmy neutron, the after my wife gets home from work i get out into the shop and fire up the machine till about midnight. then i come into the house reply to an email or two and go to bed so i can get up at the but crack of dawn to start the process over again. it ends up to be a long work day, but on the other hand i do get to stay at home with the little ones and i am home when there older brothers get home from school. so i have to say, even though i am far from being wealthy, i live a very rich life.
