I am searching for a local dealer (Toronto) that can get me an '02 Z06 and am getting conflicting stories on how their "allocation" for Z06's work. Can someone please explain this to me? Do they know now exactly how many Z06's they will get? One dealer told me he was getting 15, then when he saw I was serious, he changed it to a "couple a month, but there is no guarantee". Thanks in advance to anyone who can clear this up for me. BTW, no one will deal on the price at all up here - full list or walk! :bs Mark
Re: Trying to understand allocations - help please! (Zedder)
194 were originally allocated to Canada for Model Year 2001 - we ended up with 284 Z06's coming to Canada.
Every one was sold. Virtually none were discounted. I only know of 1 Z06 that sold well below list and that's because the dealer owed a customer a big favour on his next Corvette purchase.
Z06's are allocated based on the regular volumes of Corvette coupes and convertibles sold by the dealer. These decisions are made by GM Canada. For additional insight go to http://www.corvettecanada.com
See what they can do for you with their knowledge with the Toronto dealers. Scott Jarvie is wired in to a number of dealers back there. Otherwise e mail me and I will put you in touch with a couple of guys out here.

In the US (maybe everywhere) a dealer had to sell 5 total C5s in 01 to get 1 02 Z06. GM is particular on percentages...expect Z06s to make up around 20% (maybe more this year) of total C5 sales.
