I live in Connecticut so I will be storing my car for the winter. Any suggestions. Already have a fresh coat of wax and a cover and it will be in a detached garage. Just want some insurance about keeping anythimg from turning it into their home. I am putting out mouse traps and some moth ***** around the car but i am just wondering about any other preventative things. I was considering getting that "car bubble" if anyone has any info on that all would be appreciated.
Thanks CF
I have 4 pieces of extruded styrofoam 2" that I drive onto so that my tires won't flat spot. Also I take the battery out and put it on a battery tender. An oil change before you put it away is also a good idea.
Yep. it's that time of year for many of us. I'll be putting my 98 Torch Red coupe to bed this weekend. Seems as though everyone has a different opinion and to each their own.
Here's what I've been doing for the last 5 winters: Fill the tank and add a fuel stabilizer. Air tires to 38psi. (contrary to some beliefs, steel radial tires do not flat spot from sitting) I switch the battery tender from my bike to the C5 every couple weeks. Lock the doors. That's it.
PS. I sometimes use the car cover but I prefer not to.
Don't forget the most important thing......take a whole bunch of steel wool and stuff it into the exhaust openings. This way no critters make home in your exahaust pipes (and/or engine if you dropped the cats)

I put some Sta-Bil in the gas, change the oil and filter, and put the tires on pieces of old carpet to keep them off the cement. Some owners use some moisture absorbant packets in the interior.
