.... the video says you only have to take off your wheels about every 3 weeks to give them a nice cleaning.. ok, that's another bonus step I can do without..

To me, the whole idea behind getting custom wheels is to show
'motion' . These 'clear' wheels will just be a short lived fad!
You would have to remove the wheels constantly to get rid of brake dust on the back side, also what about lack of cooling!

That's cool and all, but that has got to royaly screw up your aerodynamics, as well as overheat your brakes quickly.
