fuel gauge problem????

fuel gauge problem????
Just bought '04 vert... When filling tank up, gauge will read empty then full(will do this several times)sometimes it will stop on half tank reading even though it is full...check gauges light comes on... after a while it will start acting right(i guess)... anyone else have this problem.. also have an '03 Z and it does not do this...

Could be your fuel sending units, or it could just be sulfur buildup. Try running a couple of bottle of Techron through the gas first and see if that helps. May want to switch brands of gas too.
If that doesn't help, have your sending units looked at.

Solid advice. Start with the fuel you purchase, since both cars are exhibiting the same behavior. Some fuels (Shell comes to mind and some cheapo gasoline) are higher in sulphur content which raises hell with modern fuel systems. The Techron in the next three tanks may fix things up.
