First-- this forum is great. It is my best resource for all things Corvette.
I bought my first Corvette last July it's a navy blue 01 -MN6 Z51. It came with both tops and had only 6500 miles on it. I got it on eBay. I am really happy with the car, love to look at it and drive it.
I have had two problems so far and they seem to be common with C5's. The driver's door stopped unlocking with the fob or power lock button. I found the cure on this forum and replaced the DCM. That works fine now.
I also have the rocking seat problem. When I accelerate it slides back and when I brake it slides forward. I found some excellent threads that detailed the cure for that. However when I took the seat apart I was execting to find that the rubber spacers on the seat movement rod had disintergrated, but they look fine and I can't feel any slop. At this point I plant to reassemble as is. Any other ideas?

i just had the dealership fix mine under my gmpp, now when i turn the car off the seat seems to go back farther than it did before so back it goes i guess-sigh
Those are the best looking rubber spacers I have ever seen. I think it is more solid now because when you reinstalled everything, the left and right screw assemblies are not exactly even. Maybe one side has one extra turn than the other and you might not even notice it. When assembled they are off just enough to take up any small bits of slack and it feels solid. Whatever the cause, I'm glad it is better.
