Some say it's easy, but I didn't find that to be the case. It helps to have small, but strong, hands.
I wound up taking mine into the shop to have it done. Mine may have been in extra tight.
You have to take the black bezel off, and maybe the painted. Then you work your hand inside and turn counterclockwise, when viewed looking toward the front of the car. Watch out for sharp edges.
bump for you.. I just purchased the Sylvania Ultras and will be changing mine. Previous poster was pretty much right on. I'll wear disposable gloves since I don't want to touch the glass surface as that could cause premature failure.
Just got through doing mine. Here is how I did mine after asking for some advice on the boards.
1) Raised the hood
2) Raised the light all the way up, not half way, via the manual adjustment ****
3) Removed the headlight bezel (found this much easier with the hood up) follow the instructions in your owners manual.
4) Then the fun part: reaching behind the light and removing the bulb. Twist and lock connections, just remember which way you turn to remove and reverse the process when putting it back in. When you disconnect your current bulb notice there is a little clip holding it in the plug. Pry it up just a tad with your thumbnail and pull with the other hand and it comes right out. Pluggin in the new bulb is no problem since you are going with the angle of the clip.
5) Put the bulb back into the twist and lock socket in the light.
6) Put the bezel back on and manually lower the light back into it's lowered position. Make sure that you do not overtighten the screws on the bezel. Just snug them up firm. Clips are guiding the screws and it seems it would be pretty easy to strip them if you torqued too much.
7) Lower your hood and try the new lights.
yeah it's easy. just remove the 3 screws surrounding the bezel and then wriggle your hands back behind the light housings. then just twist off the bulb, pop the new ones in and you're done.
