Dude, you forgot:
1. Column lock
2. Rocking seat
3. Runcraps
4. Pesky ricers
5. Pesky Stangs (but damn their cars sound good)
6. Leaky battery
7. Image of insecurity, midlife crisis, and small ummmmm....you know
8. Piston slap
9. No back seat
Yeah, love mine too.
Dude, if you wanted a back seat by a four door not a sports car.
All this crap about the run flats - personally I don't have an issue with mine and the fact that if I get a puncture it will roll another 200 miles at 50 miles per hour, in my book makes up for the little bit of road noise they make.
I've looked for this recall on column lock on the 2002 - according to GM this problem has been fixed along time ago and does not apply to 2002 and later Corvettes, anybody disagree? I just called my dealership and had them check the Recall database for my VIN and according to the service tech there are no recalls for my vett. So to what year did the column lock issue apply?
With all the complaints I've read lately about the C5's we've decided to.....keep both of ours
I love my 2004 MN6 Coupe and my wife loves her 2003 MN6 AE Vert
My partial list of don't cares:
1) That Cadillac uses the same exhaust tips. They were used on the Vette first and if Cadillac wants to use them also it' OK by me. Shoot, they didn't stay on my car more than 30 days anyway
2) Cheap interior finishes. I must have low expectations, but the interior is fine by me. Not worth selling the car over anyway. When the seats get crappy looking I'll get Vette Essentials covers
3)Want exhaust to sound like a Mustang. If you want the exhaust to sound like a Mustang, buy a Mustang. I like the fact that the Vette sounds different.
4)Plastic headlight gears. I'll replace them with brass when the time comes. Sheesh!! Stuff wears out, ya know
5) Leaky battery. So replace it. Batteries don't last more than a couple years anyway (at least out here in Phoenix they don't).
6) Leaky diff. Wifes AE had it, took it to the dealer and had them fix it. When it leaks again (hope it doesn't),they can fix it again. That's their problem.
This wasn't meant to be a rant (well, maybe a little), but I find it funny some of the things that people complain about to the point of selling their Vette's (sorry if I offended any of you, I'm just poking a litte fun).
I guess the Corvette can't be all things to all people, but what car can? All I know is I love my Vette and I'm keepin' her
I doubt if you read his post, or if you did - I doubt if you understood what he was saying.
He is keeping his TWO C5's and all the common complaints don't bother him - get it?
I have no complaints about my car - whatever I needed to change to make it better - I did. I love my VE interior and my aftermarket wheels and tires. I love my Corsa exhaust and the way it sounds. I wouldn't have anything else - and really that's what Nick is saying.
