I currently have the standard chrome C5 wheels (18/17") but I'm looking to get the chrome Z06 wheels (18/17") for my 2000, and found them on ebay for around $750 shipped which seemed pretty reasonable. My question is would I have to be concerned about anything since they're not OEM? And what could I expect to get for my old wheels (very good condition) should I decide to sell them. Thanks.
There is more information than you can possibly use if you do a search in this forum as to wheels, wheel weight.
The less expensive the wheels, the more unsprung weight you will have hanging out there at the end of the suspension. As long as you are not into drag racing or autocross, you likely will not notice any difference. Go over to C5 parts for sale and look for wheels like yours, that will give you a very good idea of what to expect...........
As far as your wheels are considered i would look on C5 parts for sale and maybe you will get an idea what they are worth. Seems a lot of owners with wagon wheels and some others like the thin spoke wheels as they are nice looking. If they are stock wheels they are not crome, they are polished alum with a clear coat.
I purchased my second set of Vette wheels on ebay last spring. Got the Highly Polished (no clear coat) C5 Z06 wheels and love them. They were from moore9911 or oewheels on ebay. They are an outfit in Florida. $449 + 135 shipping = $584. They include the Wheels, Caps (w/C5 emblem/no color), crome lugs & locks plus valve stems). I put new sensors in when mounted and went with a thicker "O" ring than came with the sensor.
FYI I was buying new tires to so went with 17/9.5 front and 18/10.5 rear. That's an inch wider than stock wheels. Like the look. For tires275/40/17 and 285/40/18 match the stock height almost exactly on the new wheels.
I've had no problems with either set of rims. I would have them force balanced, if they are off that should tell. I have heard of people having to exchange a rim but not often.

If you are looking to get C5 Z06 chrome wheels, check with some of the forum vendors. House of Wheels and Corvette Garage had these wheels at very good prices.
I ran a set of reproduction Z06s on my car for better than 3 years and never had a problem at all with them. Still looked brand new when I sold them last year.
