I just got a 2000 convertable C5, and I am new to the site. I always told myself I would get a corvette but I did not think I would get it before I turn 20 ... I know what your thinking and yes my parents did buy it but I am making payments on it untill I can pay for all of it, so in a sense I am spoiled but I hate having things given to me, I like to earn what I have

Welcome and keep up the good attitude. Make them proud and be careful out there---tons of jerks wanting to race you all the time---try not to give them the time of day---for your own good not theirs...
The guys in here are great---you will have a fantastic time.
Thanks, I have already ran into a few of those jerks, a kid in a red eclipse pulled up next 2 me revvin his fart pipe and I just looked over and laughed at him, I think that pissed him off even more than burning him

It will and you will find many many more as you get out there with that nice car---if you want to keep it (and your life) keep the good attitude that you have and don't let them suck you in..You sound like a smart kid--now go and enjoy that sharp new ride...
Very nice Corvette. Who cares how you got your Vette. Just drive. There are quite a few young Vette owners in here. If my parents would have helped me get a Vette I sure wouldn't have argued the point. You are very lucky. Enjoy the ride.
its an A4, its the only thing I could get. My dad owns a dealership in Bethesda MD and a 65 year old woman traded this in for a '07 and my parents asked me if I wanted it, at first I thought they were joking but a couple days later I was driving it back to school. I'm not complaining even though its an automatic, a corvette is a corvette no matter how you look at it right?

Welcome! Great looking Vette. I agree, the color key is very nice. With your Dad's occupation you must be a gearhead too, so you will do well with this car. Keep those grades up,watch the partying and enjoy the RIDE! Man, I thought I had fun at 20? Oh yeah, Don't forget to WAVE.
Congarts, good luck, and please be careful out there.
No offense, but at 19.........
I have let both my 19, and 17 yr old sons drive mine, but the thought of the constant temptations you will face are scary.
Not that any of us here are exempt from stupidity.
Don't worry about how you got it. I would let my parents give me one and I'm 36. Congratulations on your new car. Have fun and enjoy. Don't worry about that big grin that keeps popping up on your face. It's standard equipment for a Corvette.
