Friend has his fathers 03 for the week. Drove it home, parked it, ignition off, removed the key then attempted to open the hatch with the PKE. Hatch would not open. Key into ignition and started the engine. Pressed the hatch button on the PKE and the hatch opened. Stopped the engine with the hatch open. Closed the hatch.
Now the car will not start nor will the hatch open with the PKE. He does have dash lights with the key in the run position but when the key is turned to start, nothing.
I am an early C4 type and do not speak VATS at all and very little C5. Can someone please tell me if this is a VATS issue and how to clear it.
Thanks in advance.
Yes I understand this is a technical issue but I thought it would get more exposure here.
Thanks for the reply. I have no idea if he got any messages. Neither does he. Is there a method to clear the VATS system so this aspect can be eleminated?
I would FIRST start with a well charged battery. The c-5 can have a host of problems with a low voltage battery. Easy way to check is if the cars mileage appears on the dic and he had it set for something else it means the battery is low and the computer went to defalt to hold info in memory. Lights on the dash will work but the car will not start. As I asked in my first post "how old is the battery"???
