Don't worry about it.

Instead, move some of that money you've got in that savings account that's paying a lousy interest rate
and invest it in a dividend paying oil company or royalty trust. When the price of gas goes up, so do your dividends/royalties (which defray what you pay for gas). Of course, you'll also be realizing a gain on the appreciation of the investment too!

This year, after subtracting dividends out of what I've paid for gas to date its only costing me about $1.25/gal. each time I fill up.
Last year I paid, net, about $1.44/gal. It changes your whole attitude at the pump. While everyone around you is scowling
at the cost of gas, you are thinking..., the more they all pump the more my royalties go up! 
Remember the old adage: "If you can't beat 'em, then join 'em!"

Just for your information, I'm paying about 2.35 for premium in central florida. That was yesterday morning but I wasn't watching the prices just prior. I think it is pretty much stable though.
