Default Got the dreaded "Pull key wait 10 sec" message today

Just after starting up the vette and trying to pull out of the parking lot the car staalled and I got the pull key message. I did as instructed and started right up and drove away. It happened several times thereafter when I pull the key and tried starting again, but each time it started up after pulling the key.

I have had all of he recalls so the column did not lock, but the fuel did shut off. I got home and ran through the codes as the check engine light was on, but there wer no current codes displayed. I reset all the H codes and the check engine light is out.

Anyone know what code it should throw when the "Pull key" comes on?

I just asked this question the other day and they said it was the column lock issue but it only happened to me once and after asking me if my wheel still turns with the car off and the key out that should not be the issue---now someone did say to clean my key but as I said---it only happened to me once and it has been fine since. So if the cleaning the key thing doesn't sound right---sorry but I would like to see if anyone has any other suggestions in case it happens to me again.

I don't know if the year makes any difference---mine is a 99.

Mine is an '04 and like i said I had both recalls and my column does not lock. I will clean the key just in case that is all it is, but I wonder why I got a check engine light and no current codes.

Maybe I was not paying attention but I don't think I got the check engine light. I will be waiting to see what they throw out there though---it's the only way to learn these new cars..

thats exactly why you shouldnt have done the recalls. It will still leave you stranded. you should have just gotten the CLB for 50 bucks.

Now, for 150.00, I believe Corvettes of Westchester can resolve this. Call and ask for chuck.

Unfortunately theres no way out of it at this point

I also have a 99 and this happened to me when the tech was testing the emissions. He had to start car several times and I thing something happened there because it hasn't happened since and that was in July.

Same thing happened at my emissions test 2 months ago. Fine since.

I believe a bad column module is the culprit.

CLB should be modification #1, en route to your house before your vette arrives.

Hey there....

Too bad you missed our "column lock party" afew weeks ago....

Unfortunately, 1 or two bad apples got into my thread and turned some people off to the idea of having their car fixed properly....

As you you are likely experiencing, it SUCKS and costs lots of money and frustration when it happens.

Call me if you like....I'm here all day today and I have afew CLB devices left over from our event.

I can help you out with it...
