Depends - the 2000 vette fobs are different from all others. I can't speak to the other years

Fill out your profile so we can tell what year you have - early C5's used the PKE fobs - later years use an active type.

Default key fobs

If you have a 97 thru 00 you need one with FCCID AB00216T. 97-99 use passive entry fobs. 00 dropped the passive function. I have both kinds working on my 98. Hate the passive function Clicks as you go near the car even if you are in the kitchen. I got some on fleebay for about 60 bucks or so. Check your existing fob and see what the FCCID is and get one with the same ID then you MUST reprogram ALL FOBS at the same time to get them working. BIGHANK

Default Key FOB

Go to this link: http://www.keylessride.com/

I have ordered a couple from them including my 2002 C5.

They have programming instructions included. $19.95 w/ battery plus shipping.

My case was cracked so I just used the old circuit board in the new one and was good to go.

Match up the number that is embossed on the back side of the RFA (remote function actuator).
