[Z06] Track results... think I can do better?
R/T 0.040
60' 2.171
330 5.728
1/8 8.544
MPH 90.38
1000 10.945
1/4 12.967
MPH 111.48
My car's stock, except for Toyo T1-R tires. Tank was near-empty, with 40-ish psi in the front tires and 24 in the back.
I've read Ranger's drag racing advice posts and tried to follow them as best I could. No matter how I launched, I would always get a 2.1 60' time, regardless of length of burnout, launch RPM, throttle input during launch, etc.
A quick note: the track is pretty sticky. If I launch below 3000, and go WOT, I barely spin through half of 1st gear, and get full traction significantly before the 1-2 shift.
Based on the NHRA altitude correction factors @ 3200' (mind you, DA was 4700'), my run is equivalent to a 12.47 @ 116.04 mph at sea level.
I guess the MPH makes sense, but I just need to work on my launch.
Your thoughts, comments and/or advice are appreciated!

It is a fine line between bogging, excessive wheel speed, and the perfect launch. Since you are using a racing compound tire, you should be able to attain a high 1.7x or low 1.8x 60'. These tires are not optimum as they are road race tires. Even the stock F1s will provide a good 60'.
My best has been a 1.81 on the F1s. Well heated tires (ie. long smoky burnout in second gear) and an aggressive clutch release (not dumped) with only throttle input after the clutch is out will help.
A young owner raced his 03Z last night at Atco and yielded a 13.4 with a 2.6x 60'. He requested help and I gave him this advise posted above. Pass #2 yielded 12.8 with a 2.2x 60'. We adjusted tire pressure and he left the line at 3000 rpm. (I believe he slipped the clutch a little bit.) He then ran a 12.34 with a 1.87 60'.
I'm sure you will do the same. Good Luck and nice first passes.
I wish someone with capable hands out here owned a stock-ish C5Z whom I could watch launch and learn from.
So far I think I'm the quickest stock C5Z in town. Based on what people tell me, most other ones are in the mid-low 13s.
Another question... when converting ET/mph back to sea level, which level should be used? Actual altitude or density altitude?
