Ok so I went to change the spark plugs on the vette the other day and I noticed it looked to be impossible to change the plugs without getting some nasty cuts on my hand. So i figured....ok, those EGR lines need to move out of the way. That would require me to take them off. Since they would be off, why bother putting them back on right? Isnt that just double work?
So heres what Ive convinced myself of...I must get offroad longtube headers and xpipe. That way I can keep the EGR off the car and change those darn spark plugs!

Now doesnt this seem logical to you guys?
If you don't plan to do the headers anytime soon, you could always get block off plates ($10-$25) for the manifolds, and pull the AIR tubes off the main line. You should also unplug your AIR pump, but it will set DTCs until you have them turned off via PCM tuning. It doesn't harm anything to keep it plugged in, it will just jet air through the back of the engine bay on startup for a short time, but you should deactivate it when you can.
Also, another little tip when changing spark plugs, pull your wires, then remove your coil packs beforehand. They're easy to get on and off (5 10mm bolts), and give your forearms extra room to maneuver without scratching the heck out of them. And what you are looking for are "Race Style" headers w/ no emissions bungs. I guess there really are no such thing as "off-road" headers, it's the midpipe that comes with or without cats in the complete exhaust system!
