Default How do I know when to replace shocks

I have a 2002 coupe with Z51. It's got 47,000 miles. Michelin Pilot Sport ZP tires. It just feels like it's riding rougher now.

How do I know when it's time to replace the shocks?

How big of a job is it?

Default shocks

I would say with almost 50,000 they are nearing the end of their life, if not at the end all ready. There are many options out there and they are pretty easy to replace yourself. There are a number of posts here on how to if you do a forum search. You might want to go with the C6 Z06 shocks from Gene at Fred Beans(about $200) and the Z06 sways while you are under the car.

Go with Bilsteins when you replace them. Some of the forum vendors will give you 10% off, too.

If the rear tires "hop" when you peel out you might need new shocks.

Anyway thats how I knew to replace mine.

Well if we are counting...

+2 Bilsteins

Replacing the shocks isn't to hard and there good directions on the net. These are the first shocks I ever installed and I had no problem.

Hit me up if you have a concern.
