I don't know the exact numbers, but I do know that Vararam likes to use very unrealistic numbers when they write their ads.

I haven't dyno tested ,but the vararam is noticeable around 30 mph. You can feel the car pulling stronger. Add a Diablosport tuner and the rear wheels are spinning at wot until 60mph scary then fun.

I'm guessing the Blackwing ain't 18hp to anything; put one on our car and picked up next to nothing in 1/4.

Anything that ain't sucking cooler air (either through fog light openings or bottom breather like Honker) isn't worth anything as far as 'intakes' go.
IMHO anyways

The Vararam gave me no extra rwhp on the dyno, however it definitely gives you more power in the real world! It gets it's extra power from when the car is in motion, with air pushing through it, so the dyno cannot properly simulate this.

Before the Vararam my best ET on a cold day was 13.15 at 106. After the Vararam, my new best is 12.81 at 109.4! So it works, without a doubt. And the throttle response is better even at low speeds too, so you don't need to be going 50 mph to feel the difference.

I totally agree! I only use the dyno for tuning purposes, and I pay no attention to the numbers. Without a doubt, the Vararam intake is the best bang for the buck out there. I love the fact that the extra power is not just there at full throttle, but it's there at lower rpms and part throttle too. My car became so much more fun to drive after I got it put on.

The Vararam Snake Charmer will be the first mod I'll do to my C6 when I get one (in a couple of years)

It won't show up on a dyno since you need airflow, but it will show up at the track with your ET results just like it did me.

.3 tenths is roughly 30RWHP.

Every .1 tenth is basically 10 RWHP, at least that's what 21stMC told me.

You just said you totally disagree and then said what he's saying in other words though??????

I think maybe you misread his post.

My non-professional guess would be around 5-10 horsepower on either product.

Experience. As I said, I could be wrong, but a 35 horsepower increase seems a little high for an air intake to me. I take what many of the manufacturers say with a grain of salt. Keep in mind that they're trying to sell you a product, so their claims may be slightly exaggerated. Just food for thought.

That's what I heard too. I gained around 3/10 and 3 MPH switching to the Vararam from the Stinger. From a stock intake it would have been even more

One more thing I forgot to add. Before the Vararam, I had a Z06 intake on my car which I had cut the opening bigger. So it probably made more power than the stock setup. So my gains with the Vararam would've been even more had I gone from the stock intake!

Another point I'd like to make. I drive my car daily, even in the winter and even in the rain, and I've never had a problem. A lot of people worry that an aftermarket intake like this might ingest too much water, but it's completely safe.

And no, I don't work for Vararam, I just am very happy with their product!
