I've seen them in about all of the major Corvette supply houses. Mid America, Corvette Central, Ecklers, etc. Check their websites and see if you find what you need in the areas regarding license plate frames...I believe that is where I found mine several years ago. There are sites that offer them prepainted...I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in with more specifics. Good luck!
They call it a license filler. It fills in the area around the sides and bottom of the license plate to smooth the transition from fascia to plate.
Corvette Central has them in colors for about $70. Mine came with a black one and the cover.
Several of my friends put their plates either on the passenger visor (flip it down when they see a cop) or use suction cups and put it at the bottom of the windshield. Sometimes it works and they don't get stopped - sometimes they do. I don't like being stopped for no good reason so I just put mine on the front. I am thinking about getting the clear cover that matches the curvature of the fascia for improved aerodynamics.
BTW..........I have the clear cover and though I like it, as it does match the contours of the factory filler, bugs can get by on the sides and land inside. Kind of a PITA, but you have to take it off every couple of weeks to clean them out.............otherwise a good product..........just go in knowing that you will have to take in on and off many many times.........

I had the factory filler, and decided to paint it myself. It was easy to do and fun, actually. $15 from the dealer and a little paint and an hour later, voila! Your own, do it yourself smoothie! I also painted the back plate frame to match. And don't sweat the front plate. I didn't want to run with one, either, but after a week, I was used to the look and it's fine. I think of any car ever designed, the C5 incorporates the front plate better than any I've seen.

I got my body colored license plate surround from Kewl Auto. Nicely done and it sure makes a difference in the looks. Some forum vendors sell the same product too.

It is really a shame that states did not give sports car owners the opportunity to get a normal size plate (rear) and a motorcycle size plate for the front.
Think of the possibilities. If they want a front plate I think that would suffice.
Why don't these states make motorcyclists have a front plate??
