Max speed reached was a little over 100 mph. I actually ran two sets of laps because of the absurdly slow speed they held us to (approx 70 mph!). We had specifically requested that we go with the Mustang GT pace car so we could run at higher speeds. Once we were on the track the pace car kept slowing down!

Afterwards, the driver of the pace car told us that the reason we went so slow was because the Ford GT kept hanging back too much. The guys in the tower made him slow it down until the Ford GT closed up. We never did get up to high speed as compared to prior years. Last year I ran up to 125 mph in the Vette. The year before that I ran 115 mph in my Mini Cooper S.

Oh well, at least I got a chance to wind it up a little without worrying about a ticket!
