Default Another bad Meijer's experience

So as usual, my experience with visits to Walmarts and Meijers never seem to change my mind about why I hate those stores. I needed to pick up a few items for my house and only Meijers is open past 10:30pm here. I decided to bring the vette, and I park away from others in my own spot as always.

I'm walking to the entrance, and a late model Mustang decides to come barreling down the aisle, and stops right next to my vette and smokes his tires all while everyone in the parking lot is watching him. I see a cop car parked out front, but the cop is inside the store.

So was the smoke show supposed to make me feel:

1) Impressed by the awesome display of utter stupidity and blatant neglect for others' safety and property (had they mishandled the car and hit someone else's car)?

2) Suddenly decide that I should run back to my car and challenge him to a street race?

3) I should run to the Mustang and ask him why his car is so cool?

Honestly, I don't know why I even bother to venture out to Meijers at all! The idiot factor seems to go up by a factor of 10X once it's past 10pm! My only thought was that the idiot probably will either street race later tonight and lose his license, sell his stang due to high insurance rates, or kill himself racing.

How would you have reacted? Thanks for letting me vent.

Just ignore him. Obviously he felt he had something to prove and smoking his tires was the only way he was going to get it done.

Or, you could have just pointed at his car and laughed.

I'm confused. Why do you hate the stores for this? Is it somehow their fault? The world is beset with morons. They are everywhere we turn. It happens at parking lots everywhere. Not just Wal-Mart or Meijers.

A quick run to the manager to grab the video surveillance footage and turning it over to the cops would do wonders to stop jacka$$es like these guys.

Or maybe a note on his windshield to the effect you'd done the above might just have him thinking twice next time.

Just the sight of a Vette brings out the nuts, kooks and so on, the car is a magnet for all kinds of stunts people will do!

As noted above, I, too, am confused why you dislike those stores. That idiot in the Mustang could have done that stupid prank anywhere, including your front driveway.

Become a hermit. Move to the top of a mountain. Become totaly self sufficient. Never deal with society again. Otherwise just blow it off and go on. If the dope damaged your car, get a tag number and sue him till he can't stand up.

Not sure what that has to do with Wal-Mart or Meijers? I have only had my vert a month.... very little driving time, but in the 100 miles I have put on her it seems like I have been challenged 100 times. I have not had any problem with Stangs, but have found that other drivers have NO driver courtesy when I am in my vert... and tailgating has increased ten fold over my suv!

It's not the store that caused this idiot to do what he did, as well is is not the cars fault. There are plenty of Mustang drivers out there that are not complete idiots. The reason we seem to have trouble with them, is the Mustang is cheap to buy and there are plenty of used GT's out there for the want-a-be's. I don't even give them a second look when the start the revving at the light or playing around on the street.

That is why I take the Cavalier on errands. So I can avoid Joe Jacka$$ in the parking lot.

My guess, is that the macaroon behind the wheel, was fantasizing about how cool it would be to "beat" a Corvette, and was simply pretending to "smoke" you.

You know, the same sort of mentality of those who "ride bulls" inside of bars. Yaaa hhoooo, cowboy....
