Guys
My buddy is having this problem with his 99 C5. His wipers apparently come on every now & then and he can't turn them off.
Controls dont do anything they just keep wiping back & forth until they decide to stop by themselves.
Anybody else have this problem? If so what was the solution/what needed to be replaced.
Thanks in advance

I haven't had this problem with a Corvette, but I did have it with my Chrysler Concorde. After investigating the wiper switch, and the wiper motor it ended up being a very simple and cheap fix and was the plug-in relay. Not sure what it is like on a 'Vette, but on the Chrysler there is a "fusebox" under the hood with about 6-8 of these plug-in "modules" controlling various things like wiper relay, transmission, fuel injection etc.
As we are talking two different vehicles here, it may not be your problem, but it very well may be and would save you a lot of time and money if you investigated this first.
Check the udders beneath the drivers side wiper. They are under the hood behind the Windshield washer fluid tank. These get clogged with leaves and crap and rainwater can back up in the wiper recess and cause problems with the circuit board that is located somewheres in there. Milk the garbage and water out of them and see if the problem clears up.
Good Luck
Anyone have a picture or a good way to find this drain. Just took my Fiancees C5 through a car wash today. After exting, the wipers came on with the switch in the off position, and wouldn't shut off, until they decided to. Then, they would cycle about one or 2 sweeps every time we came to a stop after that.

This happened to me a few years ago. Had to removed the wipers and the shroud vent underneath. Then under that is pretty much a gutter system. Look for the dirt and you'll find your problem. Clean them up and you should be good to go.
Open hood, stand drivers side, place hand close the firewall and dig deep toward firewall and you will feel 2-3 "udders". These have slits in then lodged with crap. See if you can dig it out of slit at end...otherwise have to access the wiper motor and remove it to take the entire utter out and clean it. Mine were caked deep and had to take the junk out under the motor.
My motor flooded and toasted it in a bad rainstorm.
