Default X-pipe

Anyone install an X-PIPE on your ZO6. If so, what was your performance? What brand do you recommend, ie. Magna flow, WCC or Corsa

Not an expert, but from what I've read you should do the headers as well. Not sure of any gains from just an xpipe.

I did it to get rid of the motorboat 'burble' at idle, and to give it a better exhaust note (which it does). HP gains are minimal at best.

I went with the Bassani-X..

I origanally had a Bassani which I liked very much!! But now I have Kooks 3" X-Pipe with Hi-Flow cats which I LOVE!! very much. Out of your choices, I've heard the Magnaflow X with the Magnaflow exhaust and mixed with other aftermarket exhaust's & each time they sounded great. I'd go with either the Bassani or Magnaflow

The WCC Tru-X Pipe is a knock off of the Magnaflow. Same look & design, but easier on the check book. I had mine installed at the same time as my mufflers, so I can't say if it alone had any performance value. But i've heard vettes that didn't have it, and mine is a little less burbly at idle. Here's a pic of what it looks like:

Did the bassani front and rear X-pipes here, the front was an offroad setup, and suprisingly sounds very good with the stock exhaust. As for performance gain, maybe 5-10 horses from removing the cat obstruction, but I did it more for the sound.

Kinda cool, the front pipe has an x crossover where your cats would be, and you also get the rear x crossover as well. Most offroad setups sound pretty raspy, I believe the use of these 2 crossovers helps alleviate that quite a bit. It's stockish quiet driving around town, and when you get on it, it wakes up (definitely louder than stock)! From in the car, it sounds a little raspy and high pitched, but from the outside it actually has some pretty nice throat to it. I think it's a great medium b/w stock and those cat-backs that tend to drone a bit.
