Have seen a few emblems removed from the decklid/hatch, but the nose emblem leaves holes if remove it. The owner of one of the better body shops has a nice Z that was debadged though.
I removed the front emblem because it was starting to come off on the bottom anyway. It was put on slightly off center from the factory anyway, go figure. Sadly, only to THEN discover there were holes underneath. I think I may get some silver colored emblems to replace them instead.
So for now, I'm sporting the "speed holes" and their micro ram-air effect.
My rear hatch emblem is GONE!! On the the rear bumper I have stainless steel inserts. Were it not for the holes left behind on the front, it would be gone too. Someday I will have the car repainted, and when that happens, the front emblem will also go.
I have always liked the side mounted crossed flags emblems on the late C1 cars. If my front emblem ever goes, I would consider insalling a set of the old traditional C1 emblems on the side of the front fenders, in the 'scoop' Yeah, I'm sort of a non-conformist....

Holes? Just in the front? I'm looking to change mine to chrome or something silver at this point and wanted to know if they are stick on or screw on...I'm considering a darker color for my car and you won't see the black emblems then..

I removed my rear emblem this past summer with dental floss, but couldn't for the life of me get all of the adhesive off. I tried everything, but there was still residue. I ended up buying a new emblem and putting it back on. My car is nearly 9-years old, so I think the adhesive had hardened too much.

So what it sounds like is the back is stick on but the front must be screw on if there are holes right???
Ahhh someone tell me which ones to get?? If I paint the car metallic graphite then you will not see the black emblems as well so I thought the chrome would be best but it seems like they do not hold up that well so are they aslo in a different materail in silver---are those corvette central to??

Yes, the rear emblem is held on by adhesive. The front emblem is held on by "prongs" (not sure if that's the correct term) that go into holes on the front fascia. I'm not sure if they're attached with screws or not. I'm too chicken to take mine off to find out.

I think they are just a couple of prongs without anything holding down on the back end and it is a sticky adhesive like the rears. It really is done this way to prevent it from flying off when you are driving down the road. There is a lot more air passing over it on the front than on the back.
